Ah ha, another example of the evil that codec packs do!
What codec pack? Have you tried to uninstall the codec pack? Are there any any
reports in Control Panel (Classic view) > Problem Reports and Solutions?
When you need a codec you should ONLY download and install that specific Vista
compatible codec that is needed. And only from the manufacturer of that codec.
Avoid codec packs at all costs.
You can download a free little utility called GSpot (Google for it) that will
analyze the clip and tell you what codec you need.
