Sound Card Issue

I dual boot Ultimate 32bit and Home Premium 64bit. I have a SoundBlaster
Audigy 2ZS sound card that creates a "game port" issue in the Device
Manager. There is a "fix" for the 32 bit version, but not the 64 bit version
of Vista. I would be willing to get a new sound card if anyone knows of one
that will be compatible with both 32 and 64 bit versions. Not much of a
gamer, so don't need a high-end card.

Thanks,

Thanks, but it leaves the little yellow triangle and that annoys me.
I am working with my therapist on this :-)

the game port is actually for old types of joysticks.

Just disable that device under the 64 bit version...

you wont see any impact on the sound itself.

Good, we do therapy here too, so listen:

There is a lesson to be learned in this case. You need to learn to ignore
things that annoy you, and focus on things that you truly desire.

Do this, and you will see that the answer will come when you no longer
expect it. An update for this will be created eventually and you will say,
"ahhh" they made that fix! But you will see that it no longer matters that
much. Or someone might buy you a new super duper card,
or new driver might be written.

You may smile and think that I must be joking. No, this gave me an
opportunity to tell you something that applies to all areas of life.

Same rule applies to everything.

I can confirm that disabling the legacy "gameport" is in no way harmful
as I have the same soundcard and much like many legacy things if the
ain't being used they better off disabled

I have it disabled - that is not a problem.
I was just wondering if anybody used a card that was more Vista friendly for
32 and 64 bit versions.

Hi,

Have a look at Auzentech cards,
http://www.auzentech.com/site/products/cards.php

They support 32 and 64 bit and issue regular updates.

Good luck.
