I have a WinFast K8S 755A motherboard with an on board sound card. Had a new
hard drive put in and have had no sound since I got my computer back. When I
do the troubleshooting for hardware devices, I'm told the drivers for the
Multmedia Audio Controller are not installed.(code 28) I've done several
searches for them both on the windows and the Foxconn sites. It's very
confusing to me. Is there not a way for a computer-illiterate person to do
this?

Any help appreciated.

Visit the manufacturer's web page.
Download the chipset and sound device drivers.
Install them.

You must know the exact make and model.

Your best bet is to utilize the CD that came with the computer system and/or
the manual.

Always state your full Windows version (e.g., WinXP SP3; Vista SP1) when
posting to this newsgroup, please.

How does this problem pertain to Windows Update?
