So I have a soundcard integrated into my motherboard, a Asus PK5, socket 775.
I haven't been able to hear any sound from my new computer running Vista,
and I've looked up all sorts of solutions including the ones in the Help and
How-to.
I've tried downloading drivers and using the ones on the CDs but neither
works.
Now I don't know what to do so I'm kinda sad now...

Hi,

Do you see the sound card listed in Device Manager in the Sound branch? If
not, you may need to enable it in the system BIOS. If it is, check in the
control panel/sound/audio tab to make sure it is selected as the primary
device.

I'm not especially good at this, how do I enable it in the system BIOS?

Hi,

First, do you see it listed in Device Manager? If so, there is no need to
access the BIOS. The BIOS is accessed when the system is first powered on
using a key or key combination as indicated on the screen by the line:
"Press <key> to enter setup". Once in this area, you would check the
peripherals to make sure that the line for the sound card/audio device is
set to <enabled>, then exit saving changes (usually by hitting F10).
