Sound problem dosn't work

Hi i had to install windows cause i bought a new harddrive and like previous
posts it says "Windows Media Player cannot play the file because there is a
problem with
your sound device. There may not be a sound device installed on your
computer, it may be in use by another program, or it may not be functioning
properly." i go into device manager and it says basically multimedia audio
device not installed it dosn't have a driver. So i looked to previous posts
and downloaded Belarc Advisor and looked under multimedia to find my sound
card and all it said was "Standard Game Port" and thats all device manager
insists that the sound card is working i just cant find the driver and i dont
have a book or anything lost them any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Ignore Belarc - find out from your computer manufacturer, your invoice or by
opeing your computer case and looking around for the sound card/chipset what
you need to get.

Tell us what your computer make/model is - we might be able to help you
further.
