sounds problems after update

Is it just a coincidence that my speakers quit working as soon as I restarted
my computer following the latest round of updates?

I've ran into the same problem. My sound cardf is a Sound Blaster Audigy 2.
Anyone have any answers?

Have you tried rolling your sound card driver back to an earlier
version or reinstalling the original drivers?

I had this exact problem on a couple of machines here and it turned out
that widows update incorrectly identified the sound card.
