After updating to SP2, I have trouble with Control Panel crashing when it is
in category view. Mostly this happens when I click on a task or icon for
printers and faxes. Also, when I click the back button, it also crashes at
times. I can get into these Items in Classic View. I had a problem
downloading when the .net framework refused to install after it downloaded
the updates automatically. I found that my web accelerator and its proxy
settings interfered. I had to log on without it, then download the .net
framework separately. The problem started with the first download, and the
download of the .net framework did not correct the problem. I wrote to
Microsoft download support, but they have not responded. I am unsure what to
do at this point. I could use Classic view to do what I want, but I don't
like it when things do not work as they should. There are no errors to track,
it just shuts down the screen. Sometimes my desktop blanks out, and then
other times I lose my background picture and receive an active desktop
missing message. Occassionally there is some kind of memory error, but this
only happens occassionally. Does anyone have any ideas about what I should do?
