Had the same problem. Contacted MS Tech and they sent me to this address:
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...DisplayLang=en

For complete instruction go to: http://rockawaymo.us/sp_2.htm

This link is what MS Tech sent me.

It worked fine. All my MS Office products updated fine and work as they did.

Hope this helps.

That's for those instructions. Looks like I am narrowing down the problem.
When I clicked on ListTool.exe I got this error message:

"The Local Installation Source Tool has encountered an error :0 x80070002"

Does anyone know what this means?

Thanks,
J.S.

It worked for me. I installed the full version because I didn't know what the
client version meant. Putting the Office 2003 CD in the drive has apparently
helped others from what I read on other forums. It didn't work for me.

One of problems may be that the update cannot be installed while desktop
search programs are in the indexing mode.

I hope Microsoft gets this worked out soon.

Thanks Rich
