"PGerking" and "anonymous",
I am sorry you are hitting these issues. If you can go back to the Drive
Image, then please do, and try another version of your copy of Windows XP
Service Pack 2. It is available at the Microsoft Download Center (please
disregard the IT Professionals and Developers portion of this, as it will
run on an individual computer as well: (266 MB)
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...5-9e368d3cdb5a
If you cannot go back, do not panic. You can try an in-place upgrade of
your XP system by following these directions here:
http://support.microsoft.com/default...b;en-us;315341
Warning: You will be taking your system files back to the day of the CD you
use to restore the image. This will mean a number of Windows Updates and
perhaps Service Packs will need to be installed.
Sincerely,
Pat Walters [MSFT]
