The history as well as Add/Remove Programs both have their design
limitations and neither are intended to tell all about the installed
updates.
The history lists updates installed, attempted etc by Windows Update.
If an update is downloaded manually and then installed, the history will not
show it since Windows Update was not used.
Add Remove Programs lists updates that can be uninstalled.
Some updates can not be uninstalled and so will not be displayed in
Add/Remove Programs.
If an update shows as cancelled, look for a later successful installation or
go to the website of the specific update.
There you will find a list of updated files you can compare to see if the
update is installed.
