Since SP1 was previously pushed by accident, and I received it, would there
be any reason to uninstall then reinstall now that it is mainstream?

No, it's the same Service Pack.

No. It's the exact same thing.

Hi Tony, nice to see you here. LTNS.

WINVER should give you the (Build 6001:Service Pack 1) without any mods like
'beta' or 'RTM'

Thanks Mark,
Nice to see you too. It says SP1 with mods. It was after RTM on my sacred
machine.

For sure you want to pull it out on a production machine. It will be worth
the 65 meg download to get the best. Sounds like it's running fine, so
there's no real changes to the Gold version, you'll just probably be taking
out the 'debug symbols'

Sorry, I meant NO mods. This is my production machine and I am fine, but it
still broke dvd burning.

The burner is, of course, having some driver problem. You are not going to
find burner fixes on the update site, there are too many kinds. My thinking
would be that waiting is the best course for now, since SP1 is going to see
more drivers coming online. Log on the the makers site now and then to see
what shows up.

A device driver is not installed, or a hardware device does not function
correctly after you install Windows Vista Service Pack 1:
http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=948187

Method 2 is working for that.
