I have implemented SP2 on both my computers.
I notice that although all the SP1 Hotfixes are no longer listed in the
Add/Remove Programs but there are still 27 folders listed in C:\Windows
directory as $NtUninstallKB817778$ etc. Some of these folders have as many
as 26 files.
I have the same thing on both computers. Should these folders/files have
been removed by SP2 or can they now be removed?

SP2 left them behind because IF you decide to uninstall SP2 they will again
be listed in Add/Remove so, if required, you can then uninstall them. I
know, it's a dumb way to do things.

I just deleted them from within Explorer once I was sure I was not going to
uninstall SP2 (and why would you anyway).

Sp1 was automatically replaced by SP2 they took out the old ones and replaced
them with the new usindg the same file names....I did like they requested and
let the downloads come down via Auto download...
