She:kon/Greetings

On a Vista 64 system with 8 GB RAM, I just installed SP1 and now all
8 GB shows on the System screen. I guess MS got tired of all the questions
about why the full amount wasn't showing.

Vista 64 system SP1 RC with 16GB RAM here and the display is still broken

On the System page:-
Rating:
Processor: Not Available
Memory (RAM): Not Available
System type: 64-bit Operating System

In Task Manager:-
Physical Memory (MB)
Total 16381
Cached 6453
Free 7758

If I run System Information it's even weirder:-
Installed Physical Memory (RAM) Not Available
Total Physical memory 4.00 GB
Available Physical Memory 13.1 GB
Total Virtual Memory 31.8 GB
Available Virtual Memory 28.5 GB
Page File Space 16.3 GB

That's no good. I plan to buy a 16GB pc next year. Kan you use
the full 16GB?
Are it 4GB modules buffered RAM?

Don't you think 16GB is a little overkill ?

You're right they did, it'll now show the installed RAM amount instead of
what is actually usable by the system.

Sam

The Task Manager will still only show what amount of the installed RAM is
useable. The system info screen was changed to show the entire amount that
is installed.

Oh yes, I can use all 16GB of the RAM and it reports as available in Task
Manager, it's just some of the other displays, System page and System Info,
that are broken.

Yes, they're 4x 4GB FB-DIMMs (and aren't they expensive! Thanks Intel)
