SP1 still not showing up

I've read the MS website with the reasons for SP1 not showing up. The only
possible reason on my system might be one of the "bad" drivers. So how the
**** do I figure out which one it is and update it so I can get SP1? The
should be a one click deal, not hunting all over the internet for updated
drivers. I don't even know which one(s) I have on my system. If I wanted to
spend my time jerking around like this, I'd be a Linux user.

After viewing the "problematic" drivers here:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/948343 go into Device Manager (i.e. Start |
Right-click Computer select Manage| Select Device Manager in left pane)

Go to the suspect drivers (i.e. for Audio, expand Sound Video and game
Controllers), highlight the suspect driver and choose Properties, then look
at the driver details). You can then see all the drivers associated with
that device, the version and the date.

That's how you tell.

It'd be a lot easier if the SP installation just told you though... LOL...

i spent a few hours "hunting" and installing. I had 3 drivers that were
at issue--fingerprint reader, sound, and video. After updating them
(the sound was a PITA--it took 3 installs before I got back use of my
headphone jack), SP1 was offered by Windows Update and it took 20 min.,
to download ( a busy day for MS servers, i am sure!). 45 minutes to
install SP1..
