SP1 ubable to update and install

I've 3 unsuccessful attempt installing Vista SP1,
it always hangs at stage 3 with this message
!!oxco1a001d!!37812/91084(\Registry\Machine\components\winners\x86...)
can anyone out there advise.Thxs

I have tried to install SP1 and have a similar messge. Were you able to
resolve this?

hi got same problem just hangs nothing lets it run not even safe mod
left it over night still the same in the mornin
