SP2 Access denied errors

Several of my clients are getting these "Access Denied" errors
installing SP2.
The suggestion to export, delete and reimport the HKCR keys for
..audioCD, .dvd and vnd.ms.radio won't work if the permissions are wrong
- they can't be deleted. Instead, just repair the permissions to ensure
SYSTEM and Administrators have full access to the keys

Are they all running administrator accounts?

that's my point - if they were administrators, they wouldn't need to
hack the registry to fix the permissions to get SP2 to run in the first
place, right? Or am I missing something else?

You receive an "Access is denied" error message when you try to install
