Is there a fix to make the printer work after downloading SP2. I downloaded
it and find to horrors of horrors that it could no longer commucate with the
printer. I decided to unintall from add/remove programs, it froze my
computer, but I eventually removed it and the printer now works fine. What
happens if I really wanted the extra security as this is no good to me if I
can't use my printer. Is there going to be a disk or patch for SP2 for this
printer. If not SP2 is just a waste of time.

You need to ask Canon that question since Canon is responsible to make
their products compatible with the operating system.

Hi

It looks like editing %windir%\system32\MpNetIpc.ini is another
workaround:

edit the file MPNETIPC.INI and change the 127.0.0.2 in the file to
127.0.0.1, this will resolve this problem (per canon tech support).
The file should be in \windows\system32

PROBLEM SOLVED ! PROBLEM SOLVED ! PROBLEM SOLVED !
MPC190 / MPC200 + XPSP2 : unable to explore myComputer + unable to
connect to printer or scan. I suppose it solves similar problems with
a lot of canon printers.

Edit C:\WINDOWS\system32\MpNetIpc.ini
Change 127.0.0.2 to 127.0.0.1
(because XP SP2 does not allow loopback on other address)
That'all... and it works !

Enjoy,
Jerome.

Hello

Got the same problem with my canon mpc190.

The problem is that SP2 close som port witch multipass uses.

Found a patch in australia and my printer is noww working again.

Her is a link
http://www.canon.com.au/support/cust...oductID=mpc200

Just downloag and install.

Best wishes
