I installed service pack 2 and now Internet explorer will not open. Just get
the box that says Internet explorer must close with the send report, don't
send report or debug buttons all available to hit. I did not see all of the
items that should have been done prior to installing service pack 2 that I
have seen once I came to this discussion forum. Should I just uninstall and
then do required prep before installing again?
I did run AdAware 3 times and Noton Antivitus twice before down loading.

Mark: I had similar problems with sp2 and what it did to my internet
explorer access as well as locking up my files. I finally uninstalled sp2
and at least I could use my competer. I called my tech service for my
computer last night. He had me do a system restore. He also told me there
are some "bugs" to still be worked out on sp2. So I'm going to wait awhile
before I try to install it again. Good luck, "Crimaon"

Mark: I wasted a lot of time trying to install sp2 too! I also got those
messages about internet exploring needing to cancel. I finally uninstalled
sp2. It was locking up ALL of my access to documents, etc. I contacted tech
support for my computer. The had me do a system restore. He also told me
sp2 has some bugs in it that are causing some of the issues we've experience.
Good luck, Randy.

Did the tech say any more than "...there are some "bugs" to still be worked
out on sp2."
If so what was the recommended solution.
If not, find another tech, one that is competent.
A competent tech will be able to specifically state why you should wait for
SP-2 and also state what you need to do in the meantime.

SP-2 most likely will not change.
What will change is the updates and patches for 3rd party products having
problems with SP-2.
You should be researching all of those to help be sure your computer is
ready for SP-2.
If you simply wait without researching, you are wasting your time.
