SP2 and MSI motherboards problem

I have installed XP SP2 to 2 machines with MSI 875 and 845
based motherboards. This causes sytem lockups (BAD ones).

I have installed windows xp home end professional editions
3 times now for both of the machines with SP2 and MSI
latest BIOS and MSI windows drivers (NO other SW, No virus
protections etc.) and the same system freeze happens to
both computers every 2-4 windows start - not even mouse
works.

Is there a severe compability issue between MSI and SP2 ?
Is it BIOS or driver related ? Or what is going on ?

Any other info about this.

This could be because you have a Prescott processor.
