I am having problems with my disappearing local network and unability
to connect to my dsl service after installing sp2, also my network icon is
gone in the lower right tool bar, I try to create one in control
panel/network connections and it gets to the part where I want to create a
login password for broadband connection then the wizard shuts down, I remove
SP2 and it comes back..Why does it do this? appearantly no one knows, I have
been reading the other posts and no answers. I hope M$ provides a solution to
this soon. If ANY users have a solution PLEASE reply!

1. Uninstall SP2 via Add/Remove Programs and reboot.

2. Run a thorough check for hijackware, including posting your HijackThis
log to an appropriate forum.

Check for Hijackware

When all else fails, HijackThis (http://aumha.net/downloads/hijackthis.zip)
is the preferred tool to use. It will help you to both identify and remove
any hijackware/spyware.

**Post your HijackThis log to http://forums.spywareinfo.com/,
http://castlecops.com/forum67.html, http://aumha.net/viewforum.php?f=30 or
other appropriate forum for expert analysis, not here.**

3. Do not install SP2 until an expert gives your HijackThis log a clean bill
of health.

4. Check the Support pages of the computer manufacturer's website for driver
and BIOS updates.

If PA Bear's solution doesn't fix it, try this:
