After becomming very frustrated with Automatic Down load
not responding and trying in vain to load the 276Meg
execuitable via dial-up, Automatic Update resopnded with a
download of 76Meg. I believe this small load was due to
the fact that I kept my computer up to date with Windows
updates as well as Norton Security 2003.
I initiated the Automatic Update with Norton Firewall and
AntiVirus both on. The download took about 7 hours via
dialup. The connection failed once and I restarted my
internet connection. The download picked up where it left
off and completed.
It installed automatically. When I restarted, Norton
displayed a message that said keep Norton Firewall on. The
Windows security window displayed the starus of both the
Norton Firewall and AntiVirus as being on.
I have used my computer as I had before installing SP2. I
can tell no difference in the operation of any programs I
am running.
Bottom Line: Once Automatic Update responded, the upgrade
to SP2 was mainless except for a long download time due to
dialup.
