SP2 Boot Problem

I have recently downloaded SP2 4 times now and had nothing but failure every
time. I even recieved your cd for sp2 in the mail and had the same problem
there also. I will get everything updated (drivers for chipset, video card,
sound , agp port, and so on) then load sp2 only to find out that my computer
fails on boot. It gets to the windows display splash screen and then flashes
an extremely quick message then reboots. I can sucessfully run after this in
safe mode, but running normally is a no-go. Its kind of discourageing because
i ran it sucessfully on my other system that is not 64bit equipped with no
trouble what-so-ever. I just wonder if you guys have any thoughts as to why i
am having this problem? My system stats are below and also in my profile if
needed. Thanks if your reading this because i have already sent them messages
that they have not answered about it.
Doc out.

Just jumping in. I would recommend the following to get rid of the reboot so
that you can read the momentary screen and hopefully find the problem.

1) Right click My Computer and choose Properties.
2) Go to the Advanced tab.
3) Under Startup and Recovery click the Settings button
4) In the resulting dialog, uncheck "Automatically Restart".
5) Ok you your way out and reboot the computer.

Now try to install SP2, if it still acts up, you should stop at the blue
screen so that you can read it instead of just rebooting.

Hi

I suggest you disable DEP (by changing boot.ini) and see if that helps.

Please see the "Data Execution Prevention prevents complete booting
or shutting down" section here:

I would like to say it worked but it didnt im in limbo safe mode now just to
write back to you. I of course got my usual blue screen of death followed by
this message. stop error 0x00007E (0xc0000005), 0x00000000, 0xf79f70c,
0xf79f6dbc. If i dont get a response soon i may go crazy downloading my os
now and formatting for the 5th time in less than a month.

Try booting from the Windows CD, choose install, choose R for recovery
console. When you get to the recovery console prompt, type CHKDSK /R.
When it finishes, reboot. Worked for me.

I thought that there was a different SP2 for 64bit enabled systems.
