SP2 Crash after Power Failure

Was updating SP2 when I had a power failure. Windows will not restart - not
even in safe mode.
Unfortunately I did not back up some of my data - some pictures and word
docs.

I have another computer and put the drive into it and can see the drive but
can not get to the data since the user had a password. I know the password
but have no way to enter it.

I tried to do a repair of XP but it asks for an administrator password -
which I have forgotten.

Any help would be appreciated.

A normal procedure would be to remove sp2 by the recovery console

SOME password problems in the recovery console can be resolved by using the
set of floppy boot disk
