On dial up it could be 24 hours on-line for the background
download, once it has downloaded, it will install.
Since most people using dial-up don't stay connected 24/7
and often connect, dis-connect, connect as they work, the
download could take a week or more.

| I've noticed that a number of posters have had problems
with SP2 downloads
| using a broadband connection. I am having a problem with
a dial-up download
| and am looking for help. A few days ago, I received a
notification bubble
| saying that SP2 was ready for download. I clicked to
start the download, but
| nothing happened. I have changed my control panel
settings from
| notifications to automatic downloads, have changed times,
and have used the
| manual windows update feature. Nothing. Does this mean I
have missed the
| chance to download SP2? Is Windows planning a subsequent
notification? Or,
| do I just have to be patient while the millions of other
downloads take
| place? I'd appreciate any insight. Thanks.
