After Installing SP2 and restarting, my friend's computer has come up in a
640*480 format with only 4 colors. Obviously this looks terrible, and when I
follow the troubleshooting it tells me to click a few buttons that simply
don't work. The monitor button under advanced display settings is grayed out
as is any display driver button I try. He certainly doesn't have a top of the
line computer, but the display has always worked fine before. Does anyone
have any ideas?

Go to the website of the video card/motherboard manufacturer and get the
latest Windows XP drivers.
