When I try to download SP2 it never goes through and always fails. I have
tried this several times only to get the same results. Any idea of what is
going on? I've noticed several other people seem to be having the same
problem. I am now considering to just wait a little while until Microsoft
gets all the kinks and stuff worked out.

Can you please send me the %windir%\windowsupdate.log file from your
computer? Please remove the online. from my e-mail address.

Thanks.

the problem for me was my boot-up screen. I had changed it using Style XP. If
you havent changed your boot-up screen or log-on screen I dont know what the
problem is. Try resetting security settings back to defaults. instructions
are here

Hope this helps.
