sp2 error msg - cannot read or write to the database

ok, it all started yesterday- my pctools spyware software found a virus, so i
removed the file and rebooted
after the reboot-mcafee security updated, then it advised me to reinstall
mcafee, because the javascript wasnot working rite.
so i reinstalled java & mcafee ....
something didn't go rite, mcafee displayed the same error msg again.
so i did a system recovery -not destructive- apon reupdating windows now it
will not finish installing sp2 gives the error msg about read/write 2 the
database?
*i got mcafee & spyware doctor reinstalled and running again*
any help guys? plz say u do!

At this point, I'm afraid you're going to have to do a "destructive"
recovery...and I can guarantee you that neither the McAfee app nor Spyware
Doctor is working properly now.
