I was installing SP2 and about halfway through my screensaver kicked in.
After stopping the screen saver and returning to the instalation, I
discovered the instalation stopped (the window was still active but nothing
was happening) and the installlation went into 'not responding' mode. So I
ended the process and restarted the PC. Windows restored the orignal files
etc, and when the PC booted up it said 'Windows Update could not finish
installing. Go to start, control panel, add remove programs and remove SP2'
But when I try to access the control panel it comes up with the error report
window saing windows explorer has performed an illegal operation or something
along those lines and asks if I would like to send an error report. So what
I'm ultimately asking is, is there any way to access the add/remove programs
without going through the control panel? Or is there an even better way to
fix this?
