SP2 Intall Error

Everytime I try to install Microsoft XP SP2 I get an ERROR message. There are
no error codes or anything. A window will pop up about 10 minutes into the
process that states "SP2 Install Error, Access Denied". This started
happening after I've had to reinstall my operating system software (Windows
XP). Now suddenly my MP10 player won't work! I've defaulted all of my
Internet settings, ran 3 separate spyware removal tools, and even
defragmented my computer. I also installed critical updates suggested by
troubleshooting. Help!

Did you disable your anti virus' auto scan before starting the
installation of SP2? Did you disconnect any peripherals like your
printer/scanner before starting the installation of SP2?

Tried this, no change. Error code is 0x80070005 if that may help. I've
received two other replies, both stating to try the same thing. I am going to
attempt this and let all three of you know, thanks!

Thanks, had to reinstall a fresh XP, then the SP2 disk ordered a while ago.
It worked!
