sp2 internet crashes

After installing sp2 my computer (xp Home) either reboots itself or closes
out my internet connection both on internet explorer and aol if it sits idle
for any length of time. I have cable and didn't have this problem before sp2.

I've had the same problem...I've been working for 2 days trying to resolve it
with no success. I'm interested in finding the solution also. So far I've
updated all drivers, ran the programs to remove adaware and spyware, etc.
and redownloaded sp2 3 times. But again and again once sp2 has installed, I
no longer have access to internet..any attempt causes the computer to crash
and reboot.

I'm experiencing the same problem. I've updated all the drivers, formatted
the HD, reinstalled XP, and SP2 several times, but no matter how, there's no
internet connection.

The fact that the system connects to the Internet when in temporary mode
makes me think that there are still problems with the drivers...
