SP-2 works very god on the computers I have it installed.
Did you verify with the hardware and software manufacturers compatibility with SP-2 before starting? Perhaps if you detail the problems someone may be able to give you specific solutions. Or, this may be a solution for you: http://www.walmart.com/catalog/produ...41937%3A132982 -- Jupiter Jones [MVP] http://www3.telus.net/dandemar http://www.dts-l.org "00000000000" <> wrote in message news:8D77B031-DB8A-488D-A135-... > My PC has never been the same after downloading SP2, even after > reinstalling > the OS 3 TIMES. I've had nothing but a success with SP2 on over 100 workstations and laptops
at my workplace and home. You must not know how to properly address your issues, because the main changes that are detectable by the average user are the (enabled by default) firewall and IE enhancements. What might your problem be? -- A McGuire "00000000000" <> wrote in message news:8D77B031-DB8A-488D-A135-... > My PC has never been the same after downloading SP2, even after > reinstalling > the OS 3 TIMES. Well, maybe not that good.

Thanks for the link, but why would I want to buy a PC that is less than the
one I have. 2.6 GHz processor 1.5 GB memory 160 GB hard drive xp pro. media center edition Also I like to say I followed all instructions before and after downloading, from windows site and the PC manufactur site. Plus all updates to virus software ran a virus scan and adware scan, (by the way PC was clean.) The support that was offered amounted to them wanting me to troubleshoot the problem that they put on me! Yes I know that it works fine on alot of PCs, from wat I have seen they are very few though and for the most part have little or no multimedia options. For years I've been defending Microsoft products that a family member warned me about, ( a programer for a major defense contrator ). I wont be doing that any more thats for sure. Why can't Microsoft just admit they put it out before it was ready and fix it. Instead they want to acuse thier customers of not following instructions or thier customers PCs not being up to par and I know thats not the problem. That fact that all problems I've had and the ones I see posted are listed in the known issues tells me they knew of the issues when it was released. I wrote this reply for Jupiter Jones [MVP] because I felt obligated to after the reply he or she posted but I've wasted to much of my time with this SP2 crap. Maybe you or your kid can make use of your link to your Wal-Mart special. THANKS, BYE "Jupiter Jones [MVP]" wrote: > SP-2 works very god on the computers I have it installed. > Did you verify with the hardware and software manufacturers compatibility > with SP-2 before starting? > Perhaps if you detail the problems someone may be able to give you specific > solutions. > > Or, this may be a solution for you: > http://www.walmart.com/catalog/produ...41937%3A132982 > > -- > Jupiter Jones [MVP] > http://www3.telus.net/dandemar > http://www.dts-l.org > > > "00000000000" <> wrote in message > news:8D77B031-DB8A-488D-A135-... > > My PC has never been the same after downloading SP2, even after > > reinstalling > > the OS 3 TIMES. I swear the next "Malicious Software Removal Tool" I download just might be "ANY LINUX DISTRIBUTION" and try to forget I ever was a Microsoft customer. I wonder what the ratio of customer hours spent troubleshooting Microsoft "releases" / Microsoft hours testing "product releases" is?? I bet itās at least `100/1` - but probably closer to `100000/1`. Although I realize Mr. Gates made a fortune by selling whine before it's time - he should consider investing in some quality "quality control", or all of Microsoft may wake up one day and have to smell the Open Air of Linux (or OSX, or Solaris). Why would you brag about "128" issues, that just helps prove my point it was
released to soon, and where you get over 100+ PCs I have no clue, it didn't come from me. No I do not play games thats the first thing that was removed from my PC. Multimedia programs voice applications and word processing are just a few things SP2 can not handle. Yes I could spend my time helping them fix thier bugs too, but I wont. I don't work for them and I don't care to, if you want to spend your time doing so go for it.
