sp2 KP834707 and KB885884 problems

windows automatically updated culmulative security update for internet
Explorer for windows XP sp2(KB834707) and critical update for office XP on
win XP sp2 (KB885884)but both failed.
out of proc datastore 0x240001
Anyone got a fix?

also only get the desktop, no icons,shortcuts only task manager which will
not let me restore back to a date. The data appears not to be there!! other
folders appear tbo empty.

I've had a similar issue. My updates took fine, however, upon restart, only
get the desktop, no icons etc. Machine will not boot into safe mode. Any
suggestions?

Hi let me know if you get a solution as I have 2 pc`s affected butstill got
the lap top. Email me if you can
