WELLLLL... now it is totally messed up!!!! I tried to remove SP2 with the
only thing I could access- the add/remove software, and it gave me several
error messages (files missing) and wouldn't complete the un install. I then
tried re-installing SP2 which also failed. When I rebooted, chkdsk came up
and found just about every file in the computer to be orphaned. As it
reboots again, it says there is not enough virtual memory to boot. I now
can't get in anywhere. I will need all the resources you folks have posted
to get in and grab a couple of un backed up files, or should I be able to
snag them by hooking up this HD to another computer? The original was an
OEM, but I do have a straight disk for another computer. Tried starting
recovery console, it wants a non-existent password, repair install wants an
msagent\INTL directory, but I can't get in far enough to give it one. Go
Figure! I think I will eventually get there. If anyone else has a good
suggestion, it will be Fri PM before I get back to this. Thanks again
