I am trying to get my sons digital camera onto our pc. We have windows XP. I
am getting a message saying i need SP2. I did have SP2 a while back but took
it off now i cannot find out when i go to update i cannot find it anywhere,
where can i get SP2 from quickly. The camera was for my sons birthday and he
is just itching to download his photos and use it as a web cam.

Thanks for the link. I am still having probs, when i click on download SP2 it
takes me to the microsoft update page. I click both the express and customj
install but none of them give me the SP2 download, i am told there are no
updates needed. I have checked to see if i was mistaken and maybe didn't
uninstall it but i only have pack 1, do i need to uninstall this before i can
install pack 2 ?

Try this link if you wish

http://www.softwarepatch.com/windows/index.html

Non Microsoft link so download it and use it if you wish but be warned
that putting SP2 in even from M$ carries a risk that you could end up
with a totally busted OS and your OS can't be very well if its
confused re the presence of SP2 or not and struggling with a camera.

Please be aware that using non M$ links to get patches is dodgy
business however I have used this site to get obscure patches and
never had a problem.

Your choice.

Check to see if you declined the download of XPsp2 after you uninstalled it.
I think you would still be offered it until you either installed it again or declined it.

The Automatic Updates dialog has a link in it to "Change automatic update
settings". If you don't have an AU icon to doubleclick on, Run...
(e.g. press Win-Rand enter control wuaucpl.cpl

Then see if you have an active button to "Offer updates again that I've
previously hidden".

Good luck
