sp2 will not install...error #0x80070428

I have downloaded windows service pack 2, but I can't install it. I receive
this message..."An exception occured in the service when handling the control
request."
Does anyone have any ideas?

Download the fulll 'IT version' and install it.

Also - do the following:

Start button --> RUN --> type in (one at a time):

net.exe stop wuauserv
regsvr32 /s wuapi.dll
regsvr32 /s wups.dll
regsvr32 /s wuaueng.dll
regsvr32 /s wuaueng1.dll
regsvr32 /s wucltui.dll
regsvr32 /s wuweb.dll
regsvr32 /s jscript.dll
regsvr32 /s atl.dll
regsvr32 /s softpub.dll
regsvr32 /s msxml3.dll
net.exe start wuauserv

Click OK after each one.

Try again.
