SP2 WILL NOT WORK WITH AMD64

Can anyone help me
Im trying to install SERVICE PACK 2
I have an AMD64 FX51
I also have WIN XP PRO
Im told that i need to do the following to make the update work
disable
data execution protection
However i dont have this tab in WIN XP PRO
Its in WIN XP or so im told.
My problem is as soon as i install SP2 my pc boots and it just keeps re
booting
back to the start
The only way i can get it to work is by going in safe mode.
I have another pc that isnt AMD64 and it installed without any problems at
all.
CAN ANYONE HELP
I have been trying to resolve this for about 3 weeks
