i got the SP2 and now my other computer wont start up. I can't even run in
safe mode. IT freezes in "normal mode" before i see my desktop and before the
login screen. Computer worked fine before i got SP2..Any way to get my system
back the way it was w/out deleting any files, or reformating my system...

I was able to load another OS and files are still there. as best as I can
tell, it is now a registry error. Let me know if you hear anything.

You need to properly prepar the system for the SP2 upgrade. It must be
free of all spyware/malware and running in top shape.

I have the same problem of computer not starting up after trying to install
SP2, getting access denied message, fixing a registry key (vnd.radio.msn or
something like that). Then the uninstall of SP2 froze up, I tried to
re-start the computer, and it has been going through start-up in some vicious
loop, never getting to the Windows screen, turning itself off, and starting
up again. I'm in desperate need of help! I would uninstall the SP2 if I
could ever start my computer up again...

Thanks,

OK, thanks to my marvelous IT guy at work, I got my computer start-up problem
resolved... now it gets to Windows and everything *looks* normal. I know for
sure SP2 did not load completely due to an "access is denied" error and all
the mess afterwards, described in a previous post. So now I want to
uninstall SP2, and take a long, deep breath. However, when I go to
Add/Remove Programs, and start the uninstall process, a window appears, which
says "setup dedected the following programs on your computer", lists all my
programs, and says "If SP2 is removed, these programs might not run properly.
Do you want to continue?" Given my experience with SP2 so far, I do not
want to continue... I just want things to be they were yesterday, before I
clicked on the Install button for SP2. Any advice on what can happen if I
uninstall an improperly (incompletely) installed SP2?

Thanks!

I had to buy a new computer because my old one windows 98 kept crashing and
freezing, and was told that it was not repairable, Icould not get the
internet explorer to work, this one is much better, the shop told me to buy a
flat bed system and re load all the discs into the old computer and it would
work again, I had deleted some files that held the tempory internet folders,
the shop once again said that that was not the corse of the problem, If my
new one does what yours is doing I will get a computer fixer to have a look
sorry about your problem

Your new computer is missing periods and proper punctuation with the
keyboard. ;-)
