SP2 Pop-Up Blocker blocks posting here!

It took me an hour or so to post my first message here. I just kept getting
the 'Welcome back ...' message, even though I was signed in. Eventually I
tried turning off this new 'Pop-Up Blocker'. Voila!

Bit ironic, and something of a Catch 22, that this beneficial new feature
prevents communication TO the MS community!

You don't need to jump through the MS community hoops at all. This
newsgroup is carried by most ISP's

Yes, thanks Steve, realised that a little later! BTW, for some reason, I
didn't see your reply in my newsreader (Agent), although I got Dave's (to
which I'm about to reply). So I'm composing this in my browser.

Digressing while I'm here: why does this composition window default to
placing cursor at top, promping top-posting? And it also seems to have its
quote structure scrambled; until I edited it, this window started with 'Steve
says...' follwed immediately by my text.

The curser is not for top posting it is to follow through with
snip - snip to lighten the load if drivel.

I only use Agent to follow newsgroups and can't think of any reason
that it could miss a post other than by having a filter incorrectly
set.

Are you talking about Agent or your browser? The reason newsreaders
put the cursor at the top is so that replies can be edited just to
quote the relevant parts. IMO this is much better than quoting the
lot.
