SP2 problems with internet explorer

When I updated to SP2, I had trouble loading Internet explorer, it would time
out then freeze. when I did a restore to a pre SP date it works sort of ok ,
but I get alot of error messages saying the IE has to close.. the
recommendations to fix it is to install SP2. what can I do to fix this??

I recommend you reinstall Windows XP Service Pack 2, and then take a look at
the errors you may be getting once you reinstall.

You might try using the direct download point for Windows XP SP2.

SP2 is available at the Microsoft Download Center (please disregard the IT
Professionals and Developers portion of this, as it will run on an
