SP2 Question?

Hi Everyone,

I was just curious as if anyone knew, why we have to do so much Prep work
before installing SP2 via windows update site / or SP2cd?
Is it because there are new additions to it or because it is such a large
download?
I don't recall doing anything with SP1.

BTW, I did get the Cd via mail last week, it came pretty fast, but I have
not installed it yet since I had such a bad experience installing the first
time from the website.
