sp2 RELEASED AS CRITICAL UPDATE ??

When I go to the windows update site , and scan for new updates, it says> no
critical updates available<.
Hasn`t SP2 come out yet,as a critical update ????Or is there something wrong
with my pc.
OS :Windows xp ,with all the latest critical updates,(but not SP2).

Why would it be listed as a "critical update",xp with SP1 runs as needed.

Andrew;
SP-2 is a Critical Update.
Once SP-2 is available by Windows Update, it will show when a computer
without SP-2 goes to Windows Update.

SP-2 is out.
However Windows Update does not have it and will not have it for a few
days.
See the Service Pack Installation Checklist when you are ready for
SP-2:

pre-release versions of Windows XP Service Pack 2 only)

16. August Release to Automatic Updates (for machines NOT running
