Since downloading SP2 this week, I notice I have lost my address book, lost
my AdsGone program, lost my Corel which means no word Microsoft Word can be
used or old files opened. My machine will not shut off. List goes on and
on. AND my windows update no longer works.

My biggest nusinance is not being able to shut this thing off! Anyone else
having all these problems?

SP-2 installs and functions very well on computers ready for the Service
Pack.
Was your computer ready:
http://www3.telus.net/dandemar/spackins.htm

Reboot the computer
Go to Add/Remove Programs and double click "Service Pack 2".
Follow the prompts to uninstall SP-2.

If problems are still there, check for damaged/missing System files:
Start/Run
Type "sfc /scannow" ENTER
Follow the prompts and have Windows XP CD available.

Then follow the Service Pack Installation Checklist (listed above) to
install SP-2.

Marko;
System File Checker.
It checks for and replaces damaged or missing system files.
