I was wondering, after you apply SP2, why does it remove on boot if it is
either Windows XP Professional or Windows XP Home, it just simply
reads..."Windows XP"....how come?

Derek;
Microsoft decided to make the screens uniform on all versions of
Windows XP.
I guess Microsoft feels we already know what version we have.

Hi

With 4 versions of XP now (Home, Pro, Media Edition, Tablet PC) I
guess they just got tired of having to handle the different startup
screens each time they needed to compile/link a new build of the
OS/Service pack. It takes one more thing out of the test matrix for
all the various builds, since it is now consistent across all
derivatives of Windows XP.

Keeping it simple is a way to save time and money.
