Out of proc datastore is shutting down
Out of proc datastore is now inactive

I am no expert so not sure what this means or what I can do about it. I
have noticed that the Automatic Updates option in my System Properties is set
to Turn Off Automatic Updates and the options are all greyed out so I cannot
select Automatic. Is this anything to do with it?

Any help appreciated!!!
Steve

ERROR_ACCESS_DENIED
The authentication method is not supported. -
CoCreateInstance(IBackgroundCopyManager) fails with E_ACCESSDENIED

in services.msc locate the bits service
look in log on tab, check local system, and make sure the harware pofile is
enable in the lower space. ( try to make service manual)

make sure that you have the permission are set for folders, files:
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application
Data\Microsoft\Network\Downloader
C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\bits
C:\WINDOWS\SoftwareDistribution

http://www.faqshop.com/misc/default....0id%207024.htm

Updates from the Windows Update Web site are not installed and an "Error
0x80070005: Access is denied"
error message is logged to the Windows Update.log file

http://support.microsoft.com/default...b;en-us;836926

you may have to reinstall auto update

Why are you replying to a thread from December 2004?!

Assuming your problem pertains to WinXP SP3...

Error message when you try to install WinXP SP3: "Access is denied" or
“Service Pack installation did not complete”

Okay, then how about - Error 80070005
Suggestion from MS -

Install/reinstall Windows Update Client

x86-based versions of Windows - download the WindowsUpdateAgent30-x86.exe package now.
http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkID=91237

x64-based versions of Windows - download the WindowsUpdateAgent30-x64.exe package now.
http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkID=91238

Please see if installing the 3.0 client resolves the problem.

If you require more information:

A new version of the Windows Update Agent is available
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/946928

Another thing you can try is resetting the security settings back to the defaults:

Vista was only a glimmer in eye of the Windows team in December 2004.

The thread to which you're replying was about WinXP, not Vista. There is no
Vista SP2 yet.

It's best to begin your own thread about /your/ specific problem and Windows
version to avoid such confusion.
