I have the exact same issue. The only difference is that I an doing the
update through the MS Windows Update web site, not off a local server. The
failure occurs right as it begins the "install".
Computer is a Dell Inspiron 2600 with 1GHz processor, 256Mb, 30Gb disk. It
runs XP now, but no SP on it.
Open to any ideas or help.
