SP2 Update Problems

Hopefully someone can shed some light on this problem I'm having, I've been
battling it for 4 days now with no luck. I recently had to reformat my hard
drive, I won't go into why..that's a complete post by itself, and the disk
that I have that came with my computer includes only SP1. When I upgraded to
SP2 my internet connection went out...except in Safe Mode. I had logged on
in Safe Mode and read a few other cases like mine here on these forums and
thought that Spyware or Malware may have been an issue...despite the fact
that I had ONLY been to the Windows Update page since I had reformatted my
hard drive. So I uninstalled SP2, downloaded Ad-aware and Spybot S&D and ran
them both before installing SP2 once again. Again, no luck. Unfortunately
SP2 is a necessity for some of the applications I use on my computer or else
I wouldn't even worry about it. Please help?

And you also installed your AV. I do not understand why when someone reformats do they try to install SP2 after installing other programs. You should be installing SP2 or any SP as the very 1st .
