No disrespect taken, as you misunderstood my reply.
My reply had nothing to do with the question at hand and everything to do
with the fact that this question appears in this group twice within 9
minutes of each other... Same person, same title, same post. The Web
Interface I spoke of is the Microsoft Web Interface to these newsgroups. I
was commenting on the fact that a message or two it relays to the user can
be confusing and the user
subsequently reposts the question. Thus I said...
"Dual Posted. Must be using the Web Interface"
The identical post has some really good people already on it.
And while - yes - you can order the CD and/or download your own (search -
you will see I recommend that over the web install every time) - most home
users do nothing but visit that web page and/or depend on automatic updates
and many will *never* know there is a full distributable file and many -
when they find out - are taken aback by the "for IT professionals" stamped
all over the download page.
As for your distrust in network installs - I rely and trust them entirely.
Intranet installs save time and effort. A good network is the key to a good
computing environment these days. Internet installs.. Not so much -
download, save and then run.
