Hello,
installed sp2 for xp pro. when i plug in USB wireless
it works fine, but the 'safely remove hardware' dialog
box from the system tray doesn't show the USB device.

How do I safely remove it?

THanks

worked fine in sp1. the safely remove hardware box would
show USB wireless network device. click it to stop and
then remove the device. Not there anymore.

thanks.

could it be that it's not necessary for a wireless device?
with an external HD, it may require stopping the device before removing it.
Have you any other USB devices to test it out with ?

It used to be necessary, as I stated in my post, under
SP1 the wireless device would appear under the Safely
Remove Hardware in the system tray. Both the microsoft
USB wireless and Netgear USB wireless do not show up
anymore on any PC I have upgraded to SP2.
