Hind sight being 20/20, perhaps Microsoft could have
produced a utility program that would scan one's system
and alerted one to possible conflicts with the SP2
upgrade.
When XP Home Edition (Upgrade Version) first came out
there was such a program. Findig these conflicts allowed
one to make corrections to hardware and upgrade software
prior to instillation, thus avoiding the problems that
SP2 has seemed to cause.
For most users of the SP2 download, congratulations,
there have been no problems, but that is little comfort
for those whose "corrupted" systems crashed. Yes, there
are sites that list these potential conflicts but how
many have taken the time to look them up.

I totally agree with you Tom.
That is what I more or less tried to say in another one of my posts.
I think Microsoft should have had some sort of downloadable program that could scan peoples' pcs to see if their are any conflicts/compability issues.
I am beginning to think that conflicts/combability issues are the biggest problem right now with this sp2.

I must agree with both of you, microsoft should have included a scanner for
conflicting hardware/programmes, it would have saved a lot of people many
headaches with sp2, me being one of them.
