SP2 wont install on XP Home

Update History shows lots of failed installs by Windows Automatic Updates of
SP2 over several months. All the other updates seem to load OK. I have
attempted to use the method offered here by Sky King on 15 Feb 2006 but
recovery console reports no file $ntservicepackuninstall$\spuninst. This is
confirmed by doing a DIR on C:\WINDOWS and by the fact there is no Service
Pack 2 uninstall offered in 'add/remove' programs in 'control panel'. How can
I get this service pack installed?

Thanks for help. I have now successfully downloaded and installed the 'full
version' from the designated Microsoft site
